In September 2014, we organised over 250 participants at our 1st International Economics Conference, Economy, People & Planet – Towards a New Economic Paradigm. In November 2015 we invite you to participate in the conference Economy, People and Planet 2015 – Exploring Actions of Transition.

Drawing on the experiences and lessons from last year’s conference, this year we will go a step further as we combine the philosophical discussions with concrete examples of successful and cutting-edge transition projects. We will explore alternative ways in which our society can function and flourish towards a sustainable green economy.

We need new solutions to the various challenges, which we as a global society face today in terms of our flawed economic system, decreasing growth rates in the economy, environmental depletion, and the challenges of providing a healthy life for a growing world population. Today’s dialogue of how to meet these challenges has continually focused on the productivity and efficiency of the current system rather than reinventing the system. We hence invite you to rethink the everyday systems of today from food production to money and the economy.

Meanwhile there is also more and more attention on the need for changing the way we organise society, the objective of our economic activities, how we exchange goods and services, and how we manage our collective commons. The transition agenda is slowly, but steadily entering the public debate. Society calls for INSPIRATION, for ACTION for NEW MODELS.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

We want to explore alternative ways of thinking about and responding to economics; combining academia with everyday life. EPP 2015 is a two-day conference aiming to discuss issues concerning the crucial transition of society towards a sustainable economic system. The conference will revolve around  four topics.
