Many things have happened since then – both internally in our organisation and in society in general. New political actions have appeared (perhaps inspired by our appeal?), many new interesting transition initiatives have emerged, and the transition to a sustainable society has truly caught hold of the political agenda. However, some things remain the same: there is still an urgent need for a fundamental change of society if we are to solve the systemic crisis in which we find ourselves – and we are!For this reason Transition Now invites you to a one-day seminar Tuesday February 21, 9am-5pm in Landstingssalen at Christiansborg (the Parliament), with the aim of engaging all with an interest in transition in the projects of Transition Now. This is a great chance to become part of the central functioning of the organisation by either become part of existing project groups or starting up new ones.
During the day there will be interesting presentations from (among others) ph.d. in ecological economics Emil Urhammer, as well as a pecha kucha session with innovative transition initiatives – a concept also known as torchbearers from our Economy, People & Planet conferences (see draft programme below). The common sessions wil be held in English while the project groups can work in whatever language suits the participants.
The seminar will take place in Landstingssalen in Chritiansborg (the Parliament), and participation is free. However, subscription is required for security reasons and due to the limited capacity. At the same time we would like to ensure that the participants are dedicated and motivated to work for the green transition. Therefore, we invite you to write a short motivation (up till 150 words), which will be used for the selection of participants.
Please also write in the application if you have a specific idea for a project that you would like to present on the day in Open Space and which can be developed as a project group within the framework of Transition Now.
You apply for the seminar by submitting your motivation on the following link no later than February 5 2017. In the link you can also sign up for a selfpaid collective dinner in the evening. We expect to get back with a response on your application during week 6.
